- Most sexually transmitted infections (STIs) have no visible symptoms.
- If left untreated, STIs can eventually cause concerning health issues.
- The CDC recommends everyone ages 13 years and over should get tested for HIV at least once.
- Knowing your status helps you and your partner(s) to stay healthy and can facilitate conversations about safer-sex practices.
Through iKnowMine, you can order STI and HIV self-test kits – this way you can know your status on your own terms. This option is meant to improve access to STI testing, especially in rural Alaska. We recommend, as long as you feel comfortable, that you visit your local health care provider or family-planning clinic to receive STI and HIV testing.

Walk-in Clinic in Anchorage
The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) offers a specialty clinic, the Walk-in Clinic at ANMC, for non-emergent health care services for people visiting Anchorage. Patients are seen on a first come, first served basis in the Walk-in Clinic. If you are from out of town and would like to make an appointment to be seen for same-day care, please call (907) 729-1500 and ask to make an appointment with the Internal Medicine Same Day Clinic. The walk-in clinic is located on the third floor of the Healthy Communities Building, 3900 Ambassador Drive.
Behavior Health Wellness Clinic
The ANTHC Behavioral Health Wellness Clinic (BHWC) is designed to meet everyday behavioral health needs. All services are provided by telehealth. The BHWC goal is to promote Alaska Native wellness through compassionate and easy-to-connect to behavioral health services.
