Round 2 of the LGBTQ Survey is here!

iknowmine staff - Wednesday, April 04, 2018

"Learning by doing, observing and listening" is a traditional value of the Aluutiq people. At we would like to do our best to learn from the Alaska Native Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, or Queer (LGBTQ) community to create supportive materials, programs and resources through the Alaska Native LGBTQ sexual health initiative. Here's how!

LGBTQ individuals are at greater risk for many health issues, such as HIV/STIs, cancer or suicide. However, there is a lack of information about Alaska Native people who identify as LGBTQ. This lack of information limits HIV/STI prevention and outreach efforts. ANTHC's vision is that Alaska Native are the healthiest people in the world. We can only achieve this vision by ensuring the health and wellbeing of all members of the Alaska Native community.

We have launched the AN LGBTQ survey to better understand the needs and experiences of AN LGBTQ individuals and to identify HIV/STI (sexually transmitted infections) risk and health factors as well as health seeking behaviors. Take the survey now! Those who participate can opt to receive a rainbow Spawn Safely t-shirt! is a program of the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, Community Health Services.
